Mat 16:18 And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it. Hey who is storming who's gate in this picture? And what weapon are they using?
What if Christians started telling the devil the same things he tells us? psst devil, you are worthless, you are a failure, you been trying to take down the church for 2000 years, time to give up.

What If
What if works were a result of Jesus love for me and not a requirement? What if works flowed and weren't pushed? What if Christ's sacrifice really did pay the full price? What if the old covenant was about me trying to get to God and failing every time, but the new covenant was solely about Jesus loving me.

The Meaning of Grace
What does Grace really mean? The difference between the old law (What was given to the Jews in the old testament) and the new covenant (what Christ did for us on the cross) is a lot like a marriage. When I was married there were certain vows I took. Those vows are made as a contract to hold together the marriage. However I can still harm my relationship with my wife while staying inside those contractual bounds. If I forget my anniversary and do not try to make amends, I am not breaking the contract, but I am hurting the relationship. Jesus came as a sacrifice so that a covenant could be made between God and man. In a sense what this means as Christians we are no longer under the law, as in the cold contract, but we are now in a covenant relationship with Christ. Meaning we work through our issues with Him and are not bound to the repercussions of breaking a contract. Which I think is why we are called the Bride of Christ. And it is also what is meant by Jesus is the fulfillment of all the law and the prophets because He gave us a relationship which was the ultimate goal of the law, but was never realized in the law.

He Just Wants to Know Me
When Jesus calls me home, he will not call for the Associate Pastor of Boonville Worship Center, or the head of the projector ministry, or by any title; He will call me by name. Works are good, do works, but I need to remember at the end of the day titles and works are the reaction to the effect; the effect of Jesus saving my soul and having my name, not title, written in the Lambs book of life. He wants to know me. And He wants to know you.

Is Happiness the Ultimate Goal?
Could the ultimate goal in life really be happiness? I hear people say things like "do what makes you happy" and "as long as you are happy that's all that matters" but can we truly judge life by something as fleeting as an emotion? Is happiness all there is? And what about security. Isn't it better to be secure than happy?
I think if we focused less on hitting a moving target like the emotion of happiness and more on the realization that even death can't take our Creators love from us, we might understand the true meaning of life.

Seeing Through Spiritual Eyes
As a Christian I have been saved. Not my physical body because it will perish one day, but my soul which is eternal. (1 Peter 1:23 For you have been born again, not of perishable seed, but of imperishable, through the living and enduring word of God.)
If this is the case shouldn't I as a Christian be more concerned with the eternal things rather than the things that will perish?
So then logically shouldn't I look at people not by how they look on the outside, how they might smell, what their life style might be like, what laws they may have broken, where they come from, all the things that will one day perish, but by their soul, the soul that Jesus died for?
Exd 34:29 When Moses came down from Mount Sinai with the two tablets of the Testimony in his hands, he was not aware that his face was radiant because he had spoken with the Lord.
How would this world change if I spent enough private time with God that it had a profound physical effect that others noticed? Not only altering how I see others, but how they see me.

Why did God create Mosquitos?
One of the most annoying things is to have an itching bug bite. So why did God create bugs that bite us and leave an itching bump?
Well when a bug bites you it causes your immune system to kick in and leaves the itching bump. Which puts it on alert. You may very well have not gotten sick because you immune system was raised to alert by bug bites. You never know. Everything has it's place even if we don't always understand it. Even those annoying biting bugs.
