Easy Yoke

Last night during bible study we were talking about Matt chapter 11. When we got to verse 28-30 something came to me that I thought I would try and share here.
The passage is the "Take my yoke upon you for my burden is easy and my yoke is light.
The thing that really stuck out to me is the part about the yoke. I found a picture of what I think Jesus was talking about.

Here the two oxen share the load and that makes it easy, and light.
But in the picture below only one oxen is bearing the load and that makes it hard on not only the oxen caring the load, but also on the one being carried (okay use your imagination a bit with me here :) )

Sometimes we want God to do big things in out lives, but we are not willing to do big things in the kingdom. God will not hurt us by making the yoke unequal. To the degree we submit to Him is the degree He can work in our lives. If we are small to Him to make the yoke easy He has to seem small in our lives. The reason we may not always see God doing big things in our lives is not because He doesn't want to, but rather because He cares enough to not allow us to get hurt by bearing more of the load than we need Him to.
Hope that makes sense.

My Dream

Last night I have a vivid dream I must share.
I saw before me a great rug. This rug had many patterns and colors.
My eyes focused on a particular pattern. This pattern was like a shaded V shape or a upside down triangle. The triangle was bordered by a dark shade of blue maybe a quarter of an inch thick, but the interior was a lighter blue.
I noticed that when I positioned myself at a certain angle it looked like the colors switched; so that the lighter blue was on the border and the darker blue was on the inner part of the triangle. The colors did not actually change, but it was an optical illusion. And when I moved from that position I could see the colors never really changed.
The question was posed to me much in the same was it was posed to Peter in John 6:68
Will you choose the world or the Kingdom. My answer was this.
Even though I can adjust the angle and make it look like the pattern on the carpet is changed, I know the pattern has remained the same and it is I who have changed. And I know I am judged not by how I saw the carpet, but by how it truly is.
We sometimes try to adjust our selves in such a manner as to see the carpet and make it change, but no matter how hard you try to change the truth, the truth is above us all. And the truth is Jesus has the words to eternal life.
Choose what does not change. He is the same yesterday, today and forever.
